Director Of Audience Development

We’re looking for a full-time Director of Audience Development to join our team.

Responsibilities: Work with multidisciplinary brand teams and senior leadership to craft data
– and research-driven strategies for expanding audience, deepening engagement, and growing revenue across platforms Own analytics, reporting, and analysis of content on all platforms, unifying disparate data sources to deliver both ongoing and episodic insights into user behavior and content performance Provide in-depth strategic analysis and data-driven recommendations to reach target audiences, deepen loyalty and engagement, optimize content and increase conversion Conduct deep dives to identify new opportunities for growth and engagement Work with brand and functional teams to craft a structured, schematic approach to content planning, development, and distribution Lead development of a strategic approach to verticalized content anchored in SEO and shaped by market and user research Work with senior leadership to develop KPIs that will measure performance as well as inform and incentivize content development and distribution decisions to ensure they align with brand and business objectives Work with Editorial, Social, and Commerce teams on commerce strategy to drive consumer engagement to increase affiliate revenue for the brands Work closely with business and sales teams to package and deliver against sponsorships across distribution channels, including site, newsletter, and social executions Work with brand teams and leadership to define measurement and testing strategy Work closely with design and technology teams to enhance our suite of products with audience in mind in order to increase depth and frequency of reader engagement, brand loyalty, and revenue Identify and execute on new growth opportunities and best practices based on emerging digital trends, competitive business intelligence, and consumer insight Explore new distribution platforms and, in collaboration with brand stakeholders and senior leadership, evaluate whether and how our brands should participate Hire, train, mentor and manage a team of audience development professionals Qualifications: Minimum 5 years in senior digital audience development, analyst, or business intelligence roles Deep expertise with SEO strategy and tactics in a content-driven media business Expert-level skills with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO tools such as Ahrefs, KWFinder, SEMRush or similar Ability to clearly articulate and present initiatives to creative and technical teams alike and build rapport with key stakeholders 3 years of experience managing staff You Are: A self-starting, self-motivated data nerd who loves to dive deep into the numbers to find patterns and trends Passionate about user journeys—love to research them, love to diagram them, love to talk about them, most of all love to map them to content strategy One of those people who can’t stop extracting the keywords from their friends’ conversations and replacing them with ones with better saturation—but only, of course, in your head An evangelist for smart, data-grounded, user-focused content distribution tactics Impatient with the irrational or vain when it comes to digital content development An optimizer by temperament, training, and faith An outstanding communicator and packager of data insights Apply with a copy of your most recent resume and a short statement telling us why you’d make the perfect Director of Audience Development for Wide Open Media Group.
