DESIGN MANAGERMENDOCINO FARMSLos Angeles, CAThe Restaurant Design Manager provides leadership and direction to deliver the brands identity through a set of design principles to achieve all restaurant design related goals and objectives for Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market.
This position plays a key role in coordinating all design program elements, operations directives, and marketing initiatives into an upscale fast-casual restaurant environment, providing an excellent guest and team environment.
As part of a growth focused model this position will be responsible for design of new restaurant development as well as remodel/refresh programs.Core Responsibilities:Help implement a set of design principles and develop a “look book” to guide building Mendocino Farms brand identity in all restaurantsEnsure new/remodel store designs deliver the upscale “Eat Happy” brand identity, create efficient and comfortable gathering places for guests and allow for convenient and efficient store operationsExecute interior and exterior design of multiple new restaurants & remodels in a timely mannerManage restaurant design projects from inception through permit approvalsPresent design materials to multiple cross-functional teams including Operations, Senior Leadership, and Marketing to gain approval of proposed interior & exterior designReview and redline construction documents, including architectural, MEP, and Kitchen Design to ensure that all latest brand standards are properly coordinatedManage and/or create schematic designs for preliminary project planningResearch and recommend alternate options for materials and furnishingsCoordinate with internal and external parties, including external designers, vendors, architects, engineers, and project management team to assure timely and thorough design completionSupport and contribute ideas to company’s design strategy, focusing on impacting guests’ visual and physical experienceDevelop and present presentation materials including material boards and renderings as requiredOrganize, maintain and manage project files, including all working drafts, specs, materials and documentationMaintain Mendocino Farms operational understanding and knowledge in order to offer expert advice and recommendationsRequirements:Solid understanding of core architectural design concepts, practices and codesAbility to apply critical thinking and problem resolution to all areas of project developmentComputer proficiency in CADD, Photoshop, Sketchup, REVIT, etc.
