Accounting Specialist

Law firm located in West Los Angeles is seeking an Accounting Specialist to join their Accounting department.

The Accounting Specialist addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including accounts payable data entry, weekly check runs, trust accounting, journal entries, bank reconciliations and ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account and balance reconciliations

Data entry of vendor invoices, review vendor statements, credit card expense reconciliations

Manage monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities to ensure they are performed in a timely and accurate manner

Develop and implement new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department

Review general account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, prepared expenses, etc.

Respond to inquiries from Controller and other finance and firm wide managers regarding financial results, and special reporting requests

Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience preferably in a law firm environment

Bachelor Degree

Proficient in ProLaw (will consider related software such as Elite3)

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal, and customer service skills required

Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required

Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate to ensure the smooth operation of the group

Ability to analyze and assess possible problems, prioritize concerns and make decisions

Ability to interface with partners, associates, clients, vendors, directors, managers, and support staff

Ability to property handle confidential information

Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
