Wave.tv is currently one of the fastest-growing properties on social media, quickly closing in on 100 million users. We are seeking a Vice President of Growth to own the strategy that will drive our next 100 million fans. This individual will spearhead user acquisition and retention strategies as we launch into new verticals (tennis, gaming, music), new platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Twitch), and new business lines (direct-to-consumer). The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for all things online media, a track record of leading growth initiatives, and a desire to innovate and shape the future of sports media.
Responsibilities:
- Build out the strongest growth function amongst social media content publishers, bringing on best-in-class talent, developing a culture of operational excellence, and devising a data-informed, creatively-powered growth roadmap.
- Own inorganic and organic growth goals and strategies.
- Manage our growing media budget, optimizing ROI through driving improvements in targeting, creative ads, spend allocation, and scheduling across our brands and programming slate
- Build a team of copywriters and producers to create creative that excites new users, matching the innovative strength of our content team
- Elevate pace of experimentation and optimization (i.e., A/B testing)
- Leverage Wave’s large existing audience through cross-promotion across our brands and to stand-up new initiatives (content verticals, platforms, D2C)
- Drive forward analyses to help inform growth operations and advise content on best organic growth tactics (posting cadence and formats, platform analysis).
- Mentor, motivate, and develop growth team members to meet core business goals and expand their skill sets
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of related experience, preferably in digital/social media or in marketing group/agency
- Knowledge of SEO, Paid Media, and Social Media Platforms
- A proven track record of growing an audience and driving engagement while meeting revenue and other key performance goals
- Demonstrated success utilizing data to inform growth strategies
