Lead Quality Assurance Inspector

Description VadaTech is a world leader in the design and manufacture of embedded computing solutions.

Due to growth, we are seeking experience Lead Quality Assurance Inspectors to direct the work activities of the quality Inspectors in the inspection of materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products to assure quality standards are met.

This role interacts directly with Quality Manager, Production Managers and Supervisors, Quality Engineers and other Inspectors as well as manufacturing personnel to maintain quality conformance on all parts.

Point of contact on each shift for product defects and issues.

Assists Quality Engineers with product defect investigations as needed.

May perform inspection of parts, assemblies or final product in all stages of the production process (incoming, in-process and final inspection).

Essential Functions IPC-A-610 experience with J-STD-001 is required.

Directs work activities for the Quality Inspectors in the inspection of materials, in-process assemblies, and finished products to assure quality standards are met.

Performs inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of test instruments, precision measuring devices and electronic equipment to ensure compliance of parts and product with established specifications.

Works from written and verbal instructions, procedures, ECO’s, diagrams, or other control procedures.

Select products for inspection at specified stages in production process, and performs visual inspection for variety of defects.

Facilitates IPC-610 and additional training for new and existing employees.

Assist inspectors as first point of contact for defects and issues.

Assist Quality Engineers with follow up on the execution of NCMR, CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action) investigations as needed.

Initiates nonconforming material reports (NCMR’s), performs back audits and rework.

Identifies workmanship and material defects.

Determines acceptability, and identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures, referring only exception cases to the Quality Manager.

Record all start up in-process inspection results and maintain ongoing verbal and written communications with other inspectors, operators, and supervisors to ensure product quality.

May be asked to handle requests such as first article inspections, protocols, validations, collecting and sorting product sample requests and other special inspections.

Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.

Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

Requirements Minimum 7 years of electronics inspection experience in a manufacturing test environment.

Able to use inspection tools i.e., micrometer, microscope, calipers, pin gage Functional knowledge of ESD procedures Reading and understanding of electronic configuration drawings, schematics, datasheets and written work instructions Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions Proficient use of PC for data entry and maintaining inspection records Functional knowledge of printed circuit board inspection to IPC-A-610 1,2,3 and Electronic component identification and verification Fluent domain of the English language : read , write and speak Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions Environment Indoors/manufacturing floor Sitting and standing for long hours Read or write and interpret data Physical demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
