About Our Practice
Desert Eye Associates is multi location private ophthalmology practice providing first class eye care to patients. The practice has three locations throughout the Coachella and Yucca Valley. We are seeking a full time medical oriented OD.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing their own patients as well as working along and side co-managing with the staff MDs. There are who staff ophthalmologists, one glaucoma specialist and one retinal specialist.
Coachella and Yucca Valley are year round destinations due to the mild weather in the winter and extensive outdoor activities available. For those looking for an outdoor adventure, Joshua Tree National Park, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, and Mt San Jacinto State Park are all within driving distance. Shopping and dining are plentiful throughout the area. This area is known as a golf and tennis haven, so I cant leave that off!
The largest cities around are San Diego and Los Angeles, which are about a 2 hour drive.
Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities
We are looking for a passionate optometrist to join our growing practice. You’ll use your strong clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality personalized care to our patients. Your regular duties will include:
- Perform comprehensive routine and medical eye care. You manage a large number of glaucoma patients.
- Diagnose and treat ocular diseases, including eye care emergencies
- Prescribe spectacle and contact lenses
- Speciality contact lens experience is a plus
- Myopia control management with contact lenses and pharmaceuticals
- Pre- and post-operative care
- Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress
Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Valid California state license to practice optometry
- A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
