Job Description
The Provider Business Development Manager II (PBDM II) is responsible for building Keck Medicine of USC’s patient market share by creating, maintaining, and enhancing referring relationships with physicians, medical groups, community hospitals/health systems, and as appropriate, payor and non-provider relationships across all specialties and services.
The position is responsible for: (a) promoting Keck Medical Center of USC services in its primary and secondary markets (b) understanding and assessing trends in the marketplace, especially those of competing providers; (c) aiding in the development and deployment of tactics for capitalizing on business opportunities; and (d) summarizing for Keck Medical Center of USC operations, feedback on issues concerning program service and quality.
In addition, the PBDM II is responsible for developing and facilitating provider growth tactics for key service line(s) and acts as the primary contact person within the department for their assigned program.
The position will work closely with health system and clinical leadership in accomplishing these objectives.
Minimum Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
(Healthcare, Marketing, Communications, or business degree preferred).
• Prefer MBA or MHA.
• Experience may substitute for minimum education.
Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
• Experience may substitute for minimum education
• At least 8 years of experience in driving healthcare business development, physician relations, and/or network development in a healthcare/ hospital environment.
• 7 years of progressively responsible management level experience of a health care preferably in a large academic medical center setting
• Must be proficient in MS Office, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Must have demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, financial acumen, and proven sales experience.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
• Must be able to work some evenings/weekends.
• Must be able to travel outside of the office.Required License/Certification:
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a CA Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Fire and Safety Certification.
If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
