Director, Online Business Solutions

Job Summary: The primary purpose of this role is to have single-threaded ownership of an online business portfolio that is complex and crosses multiple business and technology teams.

This includes responsibility for developing plans to meet business priorities and deadlines, coordinating resources to accomplish goals, partnering to drive timely and effective decisions, and identifying opportunities for improvements.

This role is critical because it manages a portfolio that drives the strategic and functional execution of business priorities for online and the omni-channel business.

This is a highly collaborative role that requires the ability to evangelize, educate, and influence to gain consensus and keep Lowes relevant in the competitive digital landscape.

Key Responsibilities: Defines the go-to-market strategy for execution of a small to medium sized online business portfolio that aligns with the annual plan to drive revenue and increase market share.

Develops operational plans for the team, manages execution, and measures the results.

Analyzes consumer insights and competitive analysis to identify business opportunities and determine actions and tactics to address.

Presents the new and different as it relates to customer expectations.

Serves as primary liaison with executive leaders, customers, vendors, and other key stakeholders to identify initiatives and influence the prioritization of projects, deliverables, and decisions necessary for optimal delivery.

Communicates a clear vision and functional understanding of portfolio goals and objectives, setting expectations, and holding teams accountable to those expectations.

Accountable for setting, managing, and meeting business metrics (financial, operational, and customer) for a small to medium sized online business portfolio.

On occasion, work with Finance partners to build business cases and track performance.

Identifies business challenges and opportunities for improvements by leveraging customer feedback and process improvement tools.

Partner with technology teams to research and evaluate automation solutions that optimize and drive business process efficiency.

Serves as a subject matter expert for a small to medium sized online business portfolio and supports all aspects of the business needs from the cross-functional teams.

Aggregate and understand business stakeholder needs, prioritize according to business value, and communicate progress to closing gap.

Build partnership with 3-5 agile teams to iterate and build, prioritizing the work that is based on business value and improve speed to market.

Partner with implementation teams to deploy business capabilities for customers and business operations to achieve online business outcomes.

Leads business communication efforts for a business roadmap strategy, enhancements, and improvement opportunities to ensure that business leaders are informed.

Drives understanding of the online business by teaching through informational sessions (presentations), providing visibility to performance (reports/dashboards), and reports out progress to leadership.

Lead and inspire a team of 5-10 people by attracting and hiring talented individuals, communicating clear expectations, providing timely and constructive feedback and meaningful developmental opportunities, managing performance, providing resources and support as needed, keeping aligned with company objectives (strategy and values), and sponsoring and leading the team through change.

Responsible for the coordination and resource requirements needed from functional teams such as Core and Online Merchants, Store Operations, Pro, Supply Chain, Tech, and Finance.

Assigned portfolio may be one of the following areas: Stores, Supply Chain, Pro & Services, Customer Engagement, Product & Pricing.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) 8 years’ online/retail merchandising experience 6 years’ leadership experience with direct report responsibility and managing multiple cross-functional teams/resources Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Operations, Computer Science or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) 4 years’ experience managing a business portfolio in a large retail environment or consumer goods organization Expertise in Chat, Order Fulfillment, BOPUIS, B2B, Install Services, or Online Payment desired Corporate experience, retail a plus International/global workforce experience Agile/Scrum/SAFe certification
