POSITION The LACCD announces Adjunct Faculty Nursing Obstetric Clinical Instructor, for the 2020-2021 Academic School Year.

Interested individuals who meet the state of California minimum qualifications and possess the required training and experience are invited to submit an application for the position.

The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants so that when there is an actual opening at a one of our colleges, the college can then begin their review process by reviewing those applicants.

The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated and diverse candidates for part-time Nursing, Obstetric Clinical faculty positions to provide Obstetric Nursing clinical Instruction to its students.

Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty and administrators.

Final determination of part-time Nursing assignments is contingent upon student enrollment/class or assignment availability/funding.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * BRN Regulation Section 1425(c): 1.

Master’s or higher degree, which includes coursework in nursing, education or administration.

2.

Direct patient care experience within the previous 5 years in the nursing areas (geriatrics and medical-surgical) to which the faculty is assigned that can be met either one of the following: (a) 1 Year’s continuous, fulltime or its equivalent experience providing direct patient care as a registered nurse in the designated nursing area; or (b) 1 year academic year of registered nurse level clinical teaching experience in the designated nursing area or its equivalent that demonstrates clinical competency; (c) Validated Clinical Competence; (d) The equivalent of 1 years teaching experience.

* AND a current California RN License by start of employment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The primary assignment is to teach a part time load in the clinical instruction and supervision of students in the clinical area in accordance with school and agency policies.

The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.

COMPENSATION The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $68.95 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $14.91 per hour for classroom assignments.

Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.
