Bilingual Pediatric Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapists (OT) primary responsibilities are to provide evaluations, assessments and direct occupational therapy to Uplift Therapy Center patients.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities 

 

●      Provide occupational therapy interventions and individualized care to clients using appropriate treatment techniques and protocols

●      Complete comprehensive evaluations of all areas of occupation to ensure quality standards and address assessment areas that require attention with appropriate clinical tools and techniques.

●      Establish individualized treatment plans for patients and collaborate with others to create the best plan of care.

●      Establish and collect data on measurable patient-centered goals.

●      Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, children, and community members.

●      Complete detailed, accurate, and timely clinical documentation including evaluations, re-evaluations, progress reports, discharge summary reports, and daily treatment notes within established deadlines.

●      Provide ongoing therapy services, including family education and home programs.

●      Provide coverage for teammates when available.

●      Maintain productivity and documentation standards.

●      Assist with program development and in-house learning.

●      Participate in community outreach events and marketing

●      Participate in fieldwork and intern education.

●      Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending education workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal/professional networks; participating in professional societies.

●      Comply with federal, state and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation.

●      Maintain a clean work environment.

●      Help support a positive and supportive work environment.

●      Attend and participate in team meetings, supervision, and mentorship.

Required Qualifications

 

●      Ability to work independently with only general supervision

●      Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in occupational therapy

●      Licensed in California by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)

●      Continuing certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)

●      Over 1 year of experience in pediatrics preferred

●      Comfortable working in home, school, clinical and/or community setting

●      Professional and patient 

●      Effectively relay instructions to patients and communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders in a patient’s care. 

●      Successful completion of a background check and all funding source requirements

 

Physical Requirements



●      Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force and lift/move up to 25 pounds

●      Work with clients may include, without limitation, the following physical demands: sitting, kneeling, squatting, running, twisting and turning, and frequent physical transitions.
