As a Principal Administrative Analyst (Internal Auditor) District Temp you will be responsible for leading and performing internal auditing on Metropolitan’s internal controls and accounting processes.
This includes obtaining an understanding of Metropolitan’s internal control structure, designing and performing tests of key controls, and reporting on results to the Controller.
In this role you will demonstrate your auditing expertise as you work to ensure Metropolitan is operationally efficient and compliant with all laws and regulations.
You will also assist the Controller with the implementation of the newly effective GASB Statement No.
87, Leases, which involves gathering lease data from Metropolitan’s departments, reading lease documents, entering relevant lease data in Metropolitan’s GASB 87 compliant lease software and reconciling data to the general ledger.
This is a temporary assignment scheduled to last 18 months.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and eight years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and six years of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Senior Analyst classification.
Relevant Experience is defined as: work experience in accounting or auditing with a minimum of three years experience in the planning and execution of audits in a lead internal or external auditor function.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
