We is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead, manage, mentor, and build an extremely talented software engineering team and deliver game changing digital solutions across variety of market segments.

This leader must have the ability to attract and recruit the industry’s best talent, and simultaneously have the technical expertise to ensure we build compelling, customer oriented solutions in an agile way.

This leader is responsible for managing “managers” of Software Engineering team in Digital Accelerator.

Success in the role requires an innovative mind, a proven track record of delivering new customer-facing software solutions, rigorous analytical skills, and a passion for creating market-leading software for a large and diverse customer base.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways: Responsible for leading Software Engineering team that delivers Digital solutions spanning all market segments and all geographies where the company operates.

Closely partner with product and business teams to influence product decisions, roadmaps and provide subject matter expertise.

Set and articulate the technical vision and direction for your teams working to deliver game changing digital solutions.

Responsible for team financial management including AOP, budget management, and forecasting.

Responsible for People Management including work plan development, performance management, and people development.

Responsible for team building and development including organization structure, recruiting, global team management.

Compile and present Management Reports on team performance including metrics, deliverable status, etc.

Communicate status to senior management – Technical and business.

Continuously improve software engineering practices to drive increased velocity, efficiency, quality and ultimately, better outcomes.

Ensure team adherence to relevant governance, policies, and procedures including Cyber Security.

Responsible for IT Controls compliance from the team.

Establish and maintain collaborative, supportive, open and professional working relationships with a variety of executives, management and team members.

Establish and manage strategic vendor and partner relationships.

Bring excellence to execution by leading Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies.

Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.

Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community.

Product Portfolio Management
– Plans, prioritizes, sequences and manages one or more product portfolios utilizing analysis of portfolio risk and performance (diversification, value assurance assessment, company synergy, alignment, and long term maintenance) to optimize and prioritize product deliveries and maximize business value.
Strategic Roadmap Planning
– Produces a high-level, multi-year product and capability roadmap utilizing internal and external business resource, asset and market knowledge and experience to communicate the organization’s focus and priorities to internal and external stakeholders.
Release Planning
– Plans and manages the release of capabilities, features or products using inputs from the prioritized roadmap, planning, available resources and skills to communicate expected availability and releases of capability.
Resource Management
– Develops resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively.
Education and Experience College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, or a related subject required Significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required.

Broad technology and business knowledge required.

15 years of progressive software engineering experience, culminating in leadership.

Proven ability in identifying talent, passionate about building a team of software engineers, and adept at inspiring, mentoring and guiding professional development of team members.

Lead by example in a player-coach role.

Experience in partnering with multiple Product Management teams to prioritize capabilities & features and convert them into concrete plans with defined software releases delivered with continuous integration & continuous development framework.

Proven track record in encouraging innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and managing diversity.

Solid understanding of a wide array of software technologies and tools.

Experience in one of the modern programming languages such as Java, or Python, cloud technologies (AWS preferred), API’s, high performance computing, Microservices, test automation tools and Devops tools.

Experience in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.

Experience in Big Data, Advanced Analytics, Edge Computing is a plus.

Experience building complex software systems with relevant security practices that have been successfully delivered to customers.

Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices using Agile frameworks and planning/execution skills including estimating and scheduling.

Working knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

 
Compensation and Benefits
Base annual salary commensurate with experience plus annual variable compensation.
