Warehouse Shift Supervisor

The Warehouse Shift Supervisor supervises shift personnel and provides shift materials, equipment, and supplies by directing receiving, picking, quality checking, shipping, and distribution services.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the shift operations of the Warehouse/Distribution Center by managing work assignments, performance of duties, set up of the warehouse for the appropriate storage of goods and supplies
  • Maintaining and overseeing the shift allocations
  • Setting and allocating shift targets to warehouse staff and organizing staff training activities
  • Auditing daily shift labor
  • Coordinating and negotiating with transporters for dispatch of goods
  • Assigning daily tasks and evaluating the work of the subordinates
  • Ensuring the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities
  • Interviewing and recruiting employees and organizing on the job training activities
  • Ensuring the safety of all workers in the warehouse as per Occupational Safety and Health Administration norms
  • Inspecting and overseeing the warehouse records and keeping track of all inbound and outbound supplies
  • Regularly inspecting and ensuring the maintenance of all warehouse equipment and machinery
  • Making warehouse, inventory, and evaluation reports pertaining to the warehouse
  • Work closely with Warehouse Manager and Management team to ensure an effective inventory control. Assist with physical inventories, correct inventory discrepancies, locate missing items on a timely basis, and supervise stocking of vendor shipments.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the field of warehousing or supply chain
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or industrial environment
  • Ability to withstand demanding working environments in the warehouse
  • Ability to possess the physical requirements to do the position. These requirements include walking, climbing to rack locations throughout the warehouse for extended periods of time performing physical inventories and loading trucks
  • Proficient ability to operate a forklift, clamp devise, pallet jack, and maintain OSHA forklift certification
  • Excellent computer skills to include MS Outlook and MS Office suites software
  • Experience as a supervisor
  • Knowledge of the safety and legal procedures for handling and receiving goods
  • Must be able to work any shift

  • SAP experience
