The Laboratory Assistant will be performing moderate complexity antigen testing according to CLIA guidelines. .
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree minimum
- Current experience in a Laboratory required
- Able to take direction and to assimilate information after a suitable period of training.
- Must be personable and able to interact with employees, patients, and clients in dealing with unscheduled client and patient requests.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performing the antigen testing.
- Receive samples from the incoming shipments or mail delivery.
- Be proficient in handling laboratory samples according to the lab’s acceptance criteria.
- Must follow all safety precautions and wear Personal Protective Equipment.
- Must be able to correctly enter or verify patient demographics into LIMS and retrieve information from interfaces.
- Ensure that samples are stored appropriately.
- Communicate with the leadership to resolve issues.
- Be able to resolve various specimen collection issues.
