Data Scientist / Architect

Looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to join a computer assisted horse racing wagering outfit. Candidate must have a strong understanding pari-mutuel wagering markets and relevant technical investment experience. Candidate must be experienced developing robust data processing and prediction solutions for production level applications. Candidates must be capable of working in a remote environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Python
  • Familiarity with common data science libraries such as: numpy, pandas, Sci-Kit Learn, Tensorflow, XGBoost, CatBoost, conditional logit, …
  • Understanding of Pari-Mutuel Wagering Markets
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, SageMaker, CodeCommit)
  • Experience with MongoDB or similar NoSQL database

  • Experience with Database Management
  • Experience with automation solutions such as Apache Airflow, Prefect, …
  • Tensorflow or equivalent deep learning framework such as PyTorch,
  • Experience with ensemble methods,

  • Experience developing software for numerical applications in a compiled language (such as C++, Fortran, …)

Job Description

  • Investigate, identify, develop and optimize new methods, algorithms and technologies to derive novel, competitive insights from disparate data sources.
  • Collaborate with other data scientists and developers to identify, design, build and maintain tools, analytical workflows and applications to streamline and strengthen current processes.
  • Applying new and emerging analytical methods and visualization technologies on real world data for the purposes of building investment strategies within horse racing markets.

Salary: $100,000 – $200,000 Annual
