Sr. Systems Engineer – Remote Sensing with Security Clearance

The Remote Sensing Engineering & Integration (RS SE&I) contract provides Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) support to the US Space Force, Space and Missile Systems Center’s (SMC) remote sensing mission. This mission area acquires systems and services to provide warfighters and the nation with spaceborne global, persistent, infrared surveillance and environmental monitoring capabilities. Position is located in Los Angeles, CA Duties of this position will include: * Perform Systems Engineering related to Information Technology or Engineering including concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis and physical configuration analysis (PCA).
* Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
* Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software or engineering specifications.
* Provide specific, detailed information for selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
* From an information technology perspective, may assess floor layout, power & cooling, data storage, infrastructure management, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation. Qualifications Required (Skills) * Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific, technical, engineering or math field
* Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
* Experience with applying systems engineering concepts and processes
* Ability to research, evaluate, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend solutions.
* Ability to communicate clearly, concisely both orally and in writing
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
* MUST HAVE A DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN Qualifications Desired * MS in technical field, such as engineering and computer science
* Experience with space or aeronautical systems engineering & integration programs and projects
* Experience with the remote sensing mission technology and/or portfolio of programs
* Certifications, such as Systems Engineering (INCOSE ESEP, CSEP), program management (PMP), MBSE (OCSMP), agile development
* Experience working with DOD and SMC customers
