Position Summary :

DLR Group has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering discipline in our Los Angeles office.

Our engineering team is integrated in the design process with our clients and works collaboratively with DLR Group’s architecture and interiors teams on a variety of projects across all our sectors such as Workplace, Hospitality, Sports, Culture and Performing Arts, Schools, and more!

As a Mechanical Engineer you will participate in the design process of mechanical systems from schematics through construction administration to produce quality projects ranging in size and complexity.

The successful candidate will:
Identify and propose technical solutions to design challenges.

Provide technical feedback in the conceptual development of project documents.

Produce accurate documents for project assignments.

Apply practice standards to project assignments and deliver objectives on time.

Effectively communicate with PM on progress of assignments according to project schedule and workplan.

Ensures project scope, goals, objectives, and information are incorporated into project documents.

Collaborate with the Project Manager in the development of the workplan.

QA/QC work products and the work product of others to ensure client requests are met.

Interface with clients to regarding mechanical systems possibilities for projects.

Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

4+ years of experience in a MEP firm working on commercial/public projects.

Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer designing building systems for complex projects.

Preferred Qualifications :
Professional Engineering license (PE) LEED Accredited Professional and previous experience participating in the LEED or other green rating system process.

Experience and interest in sustainable building design.

An appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.

Experience with BIM (e.g.

Autodesk Revit MEP) work flow.
