In Boeing’s Maritime Undersea group our engineers design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers.

We are looking for highly motivated Associate Systems Engineer/ Technical Document Author to support capture, documentation, and management of technical manuals, configuration instructions, and operations / maintenance instructions supporting program across our diverse portfolio.

In this key role you will work with program team engineers (Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, and Production) supporting the design, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of system components.

Our programs teams rely on Systems Engineers that function in as an integrated part of our agile teams and contribute across the entire product lifecycle.

This position is located in Herndon VA or Huntington Beach Ca.

Primary Responsibilities: Capture system configuration, assembly, repair, and diagnostic procedures to include technical description and graphic references Partner with subject matter experts and technology experts in understanding technology development and integration into current state and future goals for increased functionality, performance, testability, verification and validation Interface with program management/leadership for systems engineering and integration and test team Participate in all aspects of systems engineering for current and future phases of program with design, qualification, and eventually production (womb to tomb).

Implement best practices throughout all facts of systems engineering and integration and test understanding intent and need to ensure successful product development and production Actively participate in mentoring program for systems engineers to learn cross functional skills in systems engineering This position requires the ability to obtain U.S.

Security Clearance, for which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S.

secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Ability to capture detailed system assembly and maintenance processes from demonstrations and interactions with engineers Familiarity with engineering drawings and design artifacts Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience): Experience authoring technical documents and manuals Familiarity with material handling and safety standards compliance Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation: This position is located in a location that does not offer relocation.

Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
