Dippin’ Daisy’s: Junior Technical Designer

*Responsibilities*
· Organize workflow within the department based on delivery and production time and action calendar.
· Maintain library of approved samples and patterns.
· Track and manage workflow and workload to ensure product areas are maintained with cross-functional team.
· Compile information on all garment components including fit, fabric, construction, and trim.
· Update Tech Packs with current information for BOM, construction templates, and measurements.
· Identify potential product, quality and costing issues and make appropriate recommendations.
· Heavily responsible for tracking core body measurements, grade rule approval, maintaining and updating pattern block library, and cross-referencing existing bodies to expedite fit process.
· Check construction and quality of product to ensure sample has proper construction for garment category and fabrication.
· Ability to communicate fit and balance issues via easily understandable written and/or visual methods.

Major plus if you have pattern experience in Gerber.
· Execute fit comments in a timely manner to ensure the fit process stays in line with production and action timelines.
· Review fit samples with pattern makers and designers during fit sessions on live model and/or mannequin.
· Cross-examine sample against style Tech Pack and against the previous fit samples to ensure previous comments have been corrected.
· Document clear and precise notes during line review and fittings.
· Collaborate with cross-functioning teams to gain clear direction of fit intent.
· Maintain professional and timely email correspondence with domestic & overseas vendors
· Inspect samples received from proto stage to TOP samples in a timely manner.*Required Skills*
· Strong understanding of Technical Design umbrella: construction, fit, pattern making, fabric relation to design intent, and overall improving quality of a garment while maintaining cost.
· Experience in PLM systems and CAD Patternmaking systems, specifically Gerber Accumark.
· Proficient computer skills, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint )
· Understanding of the apparel design and development process from inception through production.
· Must be proficient with knowledge and skill in fit and pattern corrections, grading, construction manufacturing methods, sewing, and technical drawing.
· Experience in grading and ability to understand grade rules.
· Experience in leading live fittings and evaluate overall fit with ability to make necessary fit/pattern corrections to achieve the desired fit.
· Knowledge of preparing and writing product specification sheets.
· Clear communication of fit comments and corrections to send to vendors on a regular basis.
· Ability to quickly and effectively to identify apparel flaws and/or possible production issues.
· Team-oriented; ability to excel in a team-based structure.
· Strong communication skills (Verbal and Written) and organizational skills
· Self-starter, multi-task oriented and the ability to resolve issues in a timely fashion.
