Accounting Support Clerk

Assignment Duration:
6 month – temp only with possible extension
PPE / attire required: Business Casual, Jean are permitted
Interviews: Phone interview only
Shift/ Working hours: Flexible start 8a – 4p (PST)
Lunch: Flexible 30 minute or 1 hour (unpaid) and 2 -15 minute paid breaks
Physical Exam: None
Education: HS Diploma or GED

Must Have skills/ experience:
This position will be solely to help catch up on scanning and electronic filing of documentation. The person will need knowledge of using a computer and scanner. They will be taught how to use the particular software but will need to be able to learn quickly so they can start scanning and filing ASAP.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Level II: 1-5 years of experience.
Under direct supervision, performs bookkeeping and accounting tasks. Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts, and checks for accuracy.
Verifies, sorts, posts, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers. Typically requires a high school education or equivalent.
Frequently reports to a Accounting Supervisor.
Performs light clerical duties within an accounting function.
May type, match payments, check items on purchase orders, prepare bank deposits and perform other routine calculations with specific instructions.
Have 10-key skills by touch or sight. Is familiar with computers (and basic principles of A/P or A/R).
Performs basic accounting functions requiring knowledge of accounts payable and receivable and of bank reconciliation functions.
Answers customer inquiries.
Researches problems and/or complaints.
Creates and edits spreadsheets.
Can perform any combination of routine calculating, posting and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.
