HVAC – Project Manager

Position:     Project Manager – HVAC
Location:   Los Angeles, CA
 

Early Stage Company with energy solutions for the HVAC / Energy Storage market, is recruiting Project Managers to manage their Field Operations in LA.  Their technology has been successfully demonstrated in several commercial buildings and they are now pursuing projects in Southern California.

 

The company has raised a round of financing and will soon do an IPO.  They are establishing their U.S. headquarters in Los Angeles and the Project Manager will have a key role to play.

 

The Project Manager we are looking for should have extensive HVAC experience in large commercial environments. They will be in charge of the onsite installation process, overseeing subcontractor’s work, documentation and timelines. Some basic hands-on skills are also required. They will also support the General Manager in business development.

 

The Project Manager will also be expected to representative the company and to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.  Should be comfortable and have credibility working with Building Engineers.

 
Responsibilities:

  • Work with business development to evaluate new opportunities
  • Work with Customers and preform site surveys for new projects
  • Perform a detailed commissioning process on several systems
  • Create an installation time line and budget
  • Supervise the installation of company solution
  • Work with partners that are incorporating the solution in their overall projects
  • Provide documented feedback based on company protocols and formats
  • Ensure quality and customer satisfaction is maintained at the highest level
  • All work in Los Angeles area for the immediate future but some minimal travel might be required
 
Requirements:
  • Mechanical Engineering degree
  • LEED certified a plus
  • 5+ years HVAC or Building Controls Project Management experience
  • Experience with HVAC onsite project deployments preferably with large providers such as Johnson Controls, Trane or large regional HVAC distributors
  • Experience working for large HVAC manufacturers in a technical support role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with customers and understand how HVAC impacts their business.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to document pre- and post- installation requirements.
  • Understanding of how HVAC systems work on energy usage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory and building automation systems.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Able to work with little supervision
