The Principal Information Scientist will contribute to the vision of future information services at Ecolab and lead a team responsible for external and internal content which empowers associates and maximizes business performance.
This includes:
Acquiring and managing external information subscriptions in print and electronic format Administering information discovery tools and authentication methods Overseeing processes to capture and archive internal technical information

What You Will Do
Manage external content supplier negotiations and renewals for resources and services Oversee document delivery and affiliated systems Build productive relationships with vendors to keep up to date with product enhancements, account manager changes, pricing model or service model changes Partner with Procurement, Law, and IT to ensure contracts meet Ecolab’s purchasing and information security requirements Ensure access and discovery of licensed content through effective use of our discovery service, catalog, link resolver, and authentication technologies Lead projects to streamline internal processes Propose, develop, and implement departmental procedures and tools, as needed Contribute to budget planning process and group strategy
Minimum Qualifications
Degree or advanced degree in library science, information science, or related discipline.
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years experience, Master’s degree with 3+ years experience, or PhD with less than 2 years experience.
Experience managing content and resource subscriptions for an organization Experience managing a team Experience analyzing, streamlining and creating processes Experience partnering with diverse stakeholders to develop solutions that meet expectations and provide value.
Experience managing and processing data in spreadsheets or relational databases
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of scientific, technical, and medical (STM) information resources Experience managing e-resources within integrated library systems (ILSs), knowledge bases, e-resource management systems, or third-party discovery systems Experience with Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint, and Teams Experience developing training documents, “how-to” guides, or videos Ability to work independently with strong results orientation Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
