Quality Control Inspector – Electrical Contract

We are looking for a Quality Inspector to support product development of a new transportation system by performing verification activities of complex electrical components, assemblies, and test rigs.WHAT YOU’LL DOThe ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough verification to ensure end-to-end electrical components and integrated hardware run smoothly and meet requirements. The candidate will work closely with electrical design engineers, manufacturing, and test technicians. Candidates will have the skill set and experience to meet the responsibilities noted below.* You will support inspection activities at client site throughout the manufacturing lifecycle (receiving, in-process, and final inspection)* Perform functional testing of electrical components and assemblies (PCBA/Wire Harnesses)* Coordinates calibration activities and maintain records of tools and gauges used for product acceptance or Verification/Validation.* Use precision measuring instruments to verify compliance on dimensions, angles, radii, contours, holes, surface finishes, concentricity, hardness, material and plating.* Perform inspection throughout the supply chain and internally to VH (source, receiving, in-process, and final inspection).* Inspects defective electronic equipment to determine malfunction; reads and interprets schematic diagrams, logic charts, drawings and sketches and manufacturers manuals; uses computer diagnostics to isolate area of malfunction; interfaces digital equipment with the computer and programs equipment and diagnostics functions.* Responsible for the inspection of manufactured products and process setups when applicable using first article pieces, setup pieces, shift samples, etc. according to checklists, blueprints and standards.* Responsible for verifying vendor reports (i.e. material certification, test reports, first article inspection reports, etc.) and internal fabrication documentation such as work instruction, travelers, and end of line test reports.* Responsible for the inspection of manufactured products and process setups when applicable using first article pieces, setup pieces, shift samples, etc. according to checklists, blueprints, travelers and standards.* Responsible for the completion and maintenance of inspection records, logs, and forms.* Responsible for initiating nonconformance, conduct root cause analysis, and issue corrective actions as required.* Support the material review board team to ensure anomalies & non-conformances are dispositioned and re-verified* Support material management, preventative maintenance, and inventory management.* Support site safety to ensure projects are completed in accordance with established safety procedures and requirements.* Support test and development organization during commissioning testing (test readiness reviews and approval process).* Perform and maintain 5S in the immediate work area.* Facilitate root cause analysis on major findings and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions.* Work with development team to improve unit test coverage, frameworks, and productivity toolsWHAT YOU’VE DONE* Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with equivalent work experience* Advanced experience using basic machine shop tools, caliper, micrometer, gauges, and jigs* Extensive knowledge of ASME Y14.5 & GD&T principles* Experience working in an ISO9001, AS9100, and/or IATF 16949 shop floor environment.* Experience inspecting solder, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface mounted devices accordance with NASA 8739 and/or IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 standards* Proficient with PC tools such as Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Project.* Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with equivalent work experience* Advanced experience using basic machine shop tools, caliper, micrometer, gauges, and jigs* Extensive knowledge of ASME Y14.5 & GD&T principles* Experience working in an ISO9001, AS9100, and/or IATF 16949 shop floor environment.* Experience inspecting solder, crimping, conformal coating, staking, and surface mounted devices accordance with NASA 8739 and/or IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-A-610 standards* Proficient with PC tools such as Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Project.WHY VIRGIN HYPERLOOP* Our Benefits: medical (including infertility & mental health), dental, vision, life, FSA, HSA, 401k, and more* Your Wellbeing: flexible work schedules, unlimited PTO, and 16 weeks of paid parental leaveFor full information on how your personal information will be stored and processed, please click here.
