Software Engineer

Position: Software Engineer Reports to: CTO What Haystack Is All About Haystack is an enterprise SaaS platform on a mission to make big companies feel small.

Our thoughtfully designed software helps companies engage their workforce by streamlining internal communications, forging real human connections between employees, and providing a centralized place for any resource your employees may need.

Haystack wants to be the front page of your business for your employees, and we?ve raised $8M+ from investors like Coatue, Greycroft, Biz Stone (Co-Founder, Twitter), and Scott Belsky (CPO, Adobe) to help us do just that.

Haystack was born by the beach in Los Angeles by talented alumni of Snap, Google, Stanford, Ritual, and Cornerstone OnDemand.

We are remote during the COVID-19 pandemic, but will stay headquartered in LA for the future.

What The Role Is All About Haystack was created on the idea that employees should have a beautiful and easy place to access anything they need, at any time.

Our software is designed to make complex actions feel simple, and the cornerstone of that concept is our product design.

Software Engineers at Haystack will use data and customer feedback to own huge parts of our feature roadmap.

This this a full-stack engineering role, however immediate projects will be more slanted towards the front-end.

This person will be responsible for building the infrastructure and features underlying our flagship application, and bringing new ideas to the table for innovation of efficient execution.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled software engineer at their core, with abilities and interests in front-end technologies, broad engineering concepts and a yearning to develop a diverse skill set.

What Your Days Will Look Like * Help lead the design, architecture, and execution of everything related to our core product.* Help drive Haystack?s roadmap working closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders.* Engage with customers to understand needs and help facilitate integration.* Advocate for engineering excellence through code review, internal talks, and framework development.* Maintain and improve Haystack?s core data platform and supporting APIs.

We do not require a formal engineering degree.

* The ideal candidate will have solid experience working as a software engineer split between small and mid-sized companies.

Haystack is early stage and extremely scrappy, we want people that are excited to develop creative solutions and work on anything.

* Experience working in a user-oriented environment.

You must be willing to collect, understand, and implement user feedback when building features.

* A strategic approach to engineering.

We are making impactful product decisions every single day, we need engineers that think ahead.* A pragmatic mindset and a solid understanding of technology tradeoffs.

* Experience owning end-to-end development of new features.

* An iterative mindset.

We move fast with multiple launches on a daily basis, so we need to measure success and make changes accordingly.
