Head of Production

The Head of Production is responsible for providing leadership and active management to all production personnel, guiding, optimizing, and improving all output across all creative teams, with a special focus on quantity and quality of performance work.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of management and leadership, successful cross-functional collaboration, impeccable organizational and project management skills, and a strong track record of producing breakthrough creative work.

You will report to the Head of Creative, and you should have an understanding and appreciation of high production value, good creative work, a knack for creative problem solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment.

Job Description: As the Head of Production, you will have responsibility for a holistic approach to production at Honey.

This will include the following pillars of work:

Allocate –
– Manage and motivate the production team, efficiently deploy the right people onto the right projects.
Maintain a top-level view of ALL production needs across the org Hire freelancers as needed based upon projects and budgets Assess and calibrate work bandwidth of all production resources Deploy production resources based upon experience, core competencies, and career growth Understand and develop yearly and quarterly budgets to produce work that fulfills larger business goals Effectively deploy production budgets across all creative channels Understand and optimize for media KPIs, such as cost per acquisition, lifetime value, and production as percentage of media spend Develop and maintain a robust network of production partners for projects of all budgets and creative concepts Work with the creative team from inception of creative concept to steer them towards the right partners that achieve both artistic and budgetary goals.

Structure and organize shoots to maximize output for testing purposes.

Organize productions with ancillary crews to maximize production efficiencies and create ancillary content for all channels Work with performance team to create low budget, ad hoc productions for acquisition needs.

Effectively deploy internal resources and external resources as needed to version creative concepts at scale.

Understand best practices of performance marketing to create the greatest number of viable creative options using the minimal amount of resources.

Work with project management and marketing teams to create workflows Assess skillsets based upon current and future needs of the creative department and increase/decrease production personnel Have a robust curiosity about how production and creative fits into larger marketing and business goals.

Follow trends in performance marketing to better direct the team towards better performing work.

Budget –
– Work with marketing partners to own and deploy monthly, quarterly, and annual creative production budgets.

Shoot –
– Find internal/external partners, shepherd shoots big and small through pre/post process and partner approvals.

Remix –
– Take existing work and multiply and optimize it across all channels, including edits, new graphics, etc.

Optimize –
– Develop, implement, and optimize inter
– and intra
– departmental processes that complement broader company operations.

Understand ‘” Have an interest in and command of the latest media platforms, trends, and audience tendencies and apply this knowledge to creative output.

About You:
10+ years of production company, agency or client-side experience producing integrated advertising content across various media platforms (TV, YouTube, Social, OOH, Experiential, etc) Expert understanding and experience in content development and production, including live action, animation, post production and motion graphics with a meticulous eye for detail Have a solid knowledge of broadcast production and established industry relationships Relevant management experience and the desire to build and develop a team.

Possesses a strong creative content production background managing external development and productions, both big and small Deep knowledge and understanding of the creative process Demonstrated strength in negotiation of budgets Organized and adept at establishing and following process Adaptable to the constantly changing environment of advertising and marketing production
