BI Director

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst who wants to join a dynamic, leading company as a key team member. This Director of Business Intelligence is responsible for delivering key insights via reports and analyses to drive and support data-driven decision-making. This is a strategic and tactical (i.e., hands-on) role that requires someone who cannot only access data and generate reports, but also provide actionable insights to departments across the company, with finance, marketing and product being the Director of Business Intelligence’s primary stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all analytical functions for the company;
  • Develop BI visualizations and scalable dashboards to measure KPI’s and help drive company growth;
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns, trends and opportunities;
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define and implement key metrics for different departments to help further the company’s data-driven focus;
  • Conduct needs assessments to support organizational strategies and provide analytical support to key stakeholders in all departments;
  • Performing ad-hoc analyses based upon business performance;
  • Partnering with the product and technology teams to constantly improve the company’s data foundations and ensure the appropriate tools are in place.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in a quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.);
  • Practical experience with high-growth ecommerce or recurring businesses creating reports, projections, models, and presentations;
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in data analytics, sales analysis, market analysis or related field;
  • Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik, Looker, etc.);
  • Extensive knowledge of BI data services, software integration, and reporting;
  • Deep understanding of KPI’s, sales metrics, marketing attribution/analysis, business case development, performance, and trends;
  • Strong statistical analytic skills;
  • Attention to detail, maintaining high levels of accuracy, integrity, process consistency and documentation to ensure people across the company trust the data and recommendations;
  • Experience with SQL, ability to construct SQL queries and comfortably navigate databases;
  • Ability to manipulate and interpret data to produce actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the company;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to turn data into an actionable story;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while still achieving deadlines;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
