Working alongside our data and product teams, the VP of Engineering will ensure our platforms, people, and processes are built for success today and in the future.
Lead
Hire and develop a team of top performers in engineering that both live Company’s core values and that consistently exceed expectations Structure and lead teams, individuals, and cross-functional relationships in a way that ensures productivity and communication Understand Company’s architecture and system components so that you can lead discussions about the future of the platform Help the executive team deliver upon challenging but achievable goals and set the vision, strategy, and plan for the future of Company’s engineering philosophy
Deliver
Balance a vision for infrastructure and systems with a medium-term roadmap and a near-term execution plan Build the vision, roadmap, and plan to ensure the foundational codebases and systems work together both today and in the future Set aggressive but achievable timelines and targets for engineering (in conjunction with adjacent functions, including product + design) and help the team to hit them
More About You
Leadership experience (CTO, VP Eng, Sr Director) at a startup, preferably during the rapid team and business scaling phase Highly technical with expertise in infrastructure, architecture, and mobile development.
Strong passion for the craft of engineering Experience engaging with executives and collaborating with business leaders to leverage the value of data to drive and influence the business Passion for product excellence and experience working in organizations with strong collaboration between Engineering, Data, Product, Design, and Business functions Experience working on and building products in the e-commerce and marketplace domains, preferable in the consumer mobile and cloud spaces
