The Senior Property and Sales & Use Tax Analyst will provide leadership in all areas of Property, Sales & Use Tax for three Silgan companies in the United States. The subject matter expert will serve as the primary contact and ensure adherence with the company’s guidelines, values, and standards for all aspects of the tax compliance processes including tax research, data transformation, tax accounting/reporting, project management, and tax process controls.
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for all aspects of the Sales & Use and Property tax compliance process including timely preparation and review of property & sales & use tax filings, tax research, data transformation
- Manage outside consultants
- Responsible for tax accounting/reporting, project management, and tax process controls.
- Manage tax research and modeling for tax planning purposes
- Lead and manage Sales and Property tax related tax audits
- Reconcile property and Sales & Use tax accounts
- Provide recommendations on tax-related regulations, rules, processes, and transactions to ensure effective and efficient tax compliance
- Register Company in new jurisdictions for Sales & Use Tax
- Identify and confirm all sales tax exemption data
- Various other duties as required
What you need:
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting
- CPA or MST preferred
- 5+ years of experience focused on property tax and sales and use tax
- Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze and validate client provided transactional data
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict activation and the filing deadline
- Works independently
- Negotiate with tax jurisdictions
