MANAGING ARCHITECT FOR DEVELOPMENT FIRM
Atlas Capital Group is a real estate development firm with a focus on commercial adaptive reuse projects in and around downtown LA. Formed in 2006, Atlas prides itself on developing projects that respect the site and capture the authentic experience of the place.
We are looking for an experienced Architect with impeccable design sense who is outgoing, detail oriented, organized and will work well with our team. The work will predominantly be focused on our highly published project, ROW DTLA (www.rowdtla.com ), and the Architect will be responsible for supporting the Senior Director of Architecture in managing our 3rd party design teams from schematic design through construction documentation as well as managing the execution of the project in the field for our ongoing Tenant Improvement and Core & Shell projects.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Manage high-profile projects through construction
- Assist with the preparation of scopes of work, requests for proposals, and project schedules;
- Lead coordination meetings with outside architects/engineers during design phases;
- Be the primary contact with consultants, vendors and clients throughout design development, construction documentation & construction administration phases
- Ensure all project team members are aware of their role and responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain control of the scope of work and services for the project including project schedule and work plan
- Assist the Senior Director of Architecture with the creative direction related to the planning and design of pre-builds and spec suites within our projects;
- Coordinate and develop space planning layouts and testfits with consultants;
- Develop vendor list for architects and contractors;
- Review design presentations and provide Client feedback;
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master of Architecture
- Eight (8+) years post-graduate related experience with a focus on workplace environment and commercial interiors
- Proficiency in Los Angeles building codes and ADA regulations
- Experience managing project teams and mentoring staff
- Demonstrated professionalism dealing with clients, consultants and vendor
- Experience with BIM workflow
- In depth understanding of flow, layout and space planning
- Ability to research, brainstorm, sketch, model – both physical and computer, and collaborate
- Prior experience with construction documentation
- Strong technical experience
- Demonstrated ability to perform construction administration duties
- Licensure is a plus
- Previous experience working within a Real Estate Development firm is a plus
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, 3D Software & Microsoft Office. Revit a strong plus.
- Excellent organization, problem solving, and negotiating skills
