Responsibilities

The National Account Manager (NAM) will be responsible for liaising and building relationships with priority National Accounts. These accounts include Commercial and Managed Medicaid payers, Wholesale Trade Accounts and Group Purchasing Organizations.

The NAM is accountable for actively differentiating and selling the product, establishing its value proposition, facilitating P&T committee reviews, submitting bids, leading negotiations and executing contracts. The NAM is responsible for gaining formulary access and reimbursement of the client’s lead candidate.

This role requires the NAM to interact with a broad set of professionals including trade relations personnel, pharmacy directors, medical directors, P&T committees and contracting managers. The successful candidate is expected to be a high-impact professional who will be evaluated against established access and reimbursement objectives. The NAM will report to a Market Access Director.

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years in biopharma sales, regional and/or national accounts
  • Proven relationships with national payers, wholesale trade accounts and GPOs
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment (sales, marketing, finance and market access)
  • Experience with vaccines preferred
  • Ability to travel > 50%
