Description:Apply Today!Applicants that meet qualifications will receive a text with additional questions from our MODERN HIRE screening and interview system.Providence is calling a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Resource Nurse (Full Time/Day Shift) to Providence Facey Medical Foundation in Santa Clarita , CA.We are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Resource Nurse who will provide direct, professional nursing care to patients who present urgent, emergency or potential health problems utilizing basic nursing principles.

Serve as a role model for Medical Assistants by providing leadership, which fosters positive attitudes and change, as well as supports management policies and procedures.

Help train and act as a resource for Medical AssistantsIn this position you will:Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and fellow staff members by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions; and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expectedRespect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patientsWork in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards.

Report any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and/or the safety hotlineLead Medical Assistants in day-to-day responsibilities; trains new caregivers; trains caregivers in new processes; and provides input intoannual performance reviewsBasic patient care skills – vitals, BP, history taking, IM/Sub Q injections, EKG, treadmill, catheterization, PTSs, Accu check, sterile technique procedure set-ups, assist in minor surgeries, pulse oximetry, phlebotomy, autoclaving, controlled substance countAdminister routine immunizations, therapeutic injections and skin tests.

Document appropriatelyAssist with emergencies as neededEstablish IV lines and monitors IV therapy of standard solutionsProvide accurate, complete, legible and timely documentation of all nursing procedures in the medical recordCommunicate clinically significant information to the physician, including but not limited to, abnormal test results, patient concerns and changes in the patient’s conditionTake patient phone calls and asks clinically appropriate questions.

Communicate this information to the physician and follows up according to his directionFollow correct procedures for handling and disposing of biohazardous infectious wastePerform daily and weekly environmental cleaning and equipment quality control and maintenanceOrder and maintain current inventories of medication and suppliesCheck for outdated medication on a monthly basisComply with all applicable infection control and safety proceduresDemonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal direction adjusting to changes in workloadDemonstrate effective nursing judgmentDemonstrate the ability to prioritize patient care appropriatelyAssist the Patient Care Supervisors with daily staffing needsKeep the Site Director informed of activities and needs at the siteDemonstrate awareness of current state, federal and local laws governing the delivery of care:Use appropriate reporting mechanisms as required by state laws.Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients.Obtain appropriate authorizations and consents for treatment.Provide open and timely communication with patients, families and their significant others:Provide sufficient information to allow patients and their significant others to participate in the patient’s careProvide educational resources to the patient/family as appropriateDemonstrate commitment to education and sharing of knowledge:Assist in the orientation of new personnel to the officeObtain ongoing education consistent with level and area of practiceMaintain current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and other appropriate licensure / certificationsParticipate in Quality Improvement auditsQualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Graduate of an accredited LVN school of NursingMinimum of two (2) years experience in medical officeCurrent California LVN licenseAmerican Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers and IV certificationMedical office experience with referencesVerified skill sets defined by department usageUR/QA, surgery scheduling knowledge and patient education skillsAbout the ministry you will serve:Facey Medical Group is a multi-specialty medical group with over 160 physicians providing care to the growing population in the North & East regions of Los Angeles & Ventura Counties.
