he Food Service Worker I (FSWI) is responsible for performing all duties related to the maintenance of kitchen safety and sanitation standards. This includes ware washing, cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work areas. Additionally, the FSWI is responsible for setting up trays, delivering food trucks and late trays for patient meal service. This position may assist with special functions and catering events. S/he assures that sanitation standards are followed according to Title 22, Joint Commission and OSHA requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Dish and Pot Washing – 60%
• Washes dishes using high temp booster dish machine.
• Cleans pots and pans using 3 compartment sink.
Tray Line Service and Delivery – 20%
• Places hot beverages, cereal and soups on patient tray.
• May assist with loading trays into food carts.
• Transports carts to patient areas and returns them according to schedule.
• Delivers patient late trays to diet clerk.
Cleaning/Sanitation/Safety – 15%
• Sweeps and mops floors
. • Empties trash.
• Cleans and sanitizes food carts after each meal.
• Records temperatures of dish machine; records sanitizer levels of pot/pan sink. • Cleans items according to weekend cleaning schedule.
Other – 5%
• May assist with set up and tear down of luncheons, caterings and special events.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Must provide for confidentiality, privacy and safety of patients, visitors and staff at all times.
• Must be available to work all shifts if needed.
• Fire Card – obtain within 30 days of hire
Preferred:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment.
• One year in food service desired.
