The Design for Serviceability team aims to bring connectivity standards into our products, solutions and services, enabling connectivity, data extraction and analysis.

You will be part of an exciting mission to change the way how we do business and to help science progress through the unimaginable power of data.**What will you do?**+ Identify industry instrument connectivity and telemetry collection standards and collaborate to publish and incorporate into Thermo Fisher standard reference architectures, corporate assets, and connectivity solutions.+ Champion corporate standards and assets at the division level through interactions, project collaboration, and leadership presentations.+ Work with the larger software R&D department to integrate corporate assets, driving adoption of standard solutions to achieve economies of scale and scaled data capture.+ Partner with Corporate IT Digital Engineering and Cyber Security teams on instrument specifications for digital technology, security, network, and IoT standards.+ Collaborate with divisional business units to enable and align digital transformation strategies leveraging corporate assets and IoT instrument telemetry connectivity standards+ Work with customers/end users to drive adoption of instrument telemetry connections+ Leverage customer and internal R&D insights and findings to generate requirements for enhancement to corporate assets and contribute to the joint technology and business roadmaps in collaboration with commercial/marketing and engineering/R&D partners+ Writes strategic documents and creates presentations to internal business partners as well as external groups; leads discussions with peers and external partners that support strategic planning and decision-making consensus with business leaders+ Improve organizational performance though the application of original thinking to existing and emerging methods, processes, products and services+ Support interchange of complex data types between dissimilar systems that enables a key level of interoperability+ Ensure standard and design choices reflect product and cyber security policies and practices to achieve compliance objectives.**How will you get here?****Education**+ Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or related technical discipline**Experience**+ 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering and networked/connected systems+ Thorough knowledge of microservice technologies as well as affinity with key security concepts+ Familiarity with IoT and networking communication standards including: OPC UA, SiLA 2, Bluetooth Smart, ULE, IEEE 802.11ah, Thread, Zigbee, ZWave, 6LoWPAN+ M2M, ML connectivity with IoT devices and communication protocols+ Data modeling and algorithm development built on ML, AI**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**+ Proactive problem-solving attitude, influencing skills, agile mindset+ Self-motivated and can work efficiently and with few distractions in a remote environment+ Ability to effectively communicate and work with many different types of personalities over different time zones+ Able to effectively communicate, present, and achieve consensus on cross-org agreements that deliver on business case data requirements+ Able to work independently and with cross-organizational team members+ The ideal candidate enjoys working in a multi-cultural, collaborative high-tech software environment+ Ability and willingness to travel, up to 10%**Preferred Qualifications**+ Master’s degree in Software Engineering or related technical disciplineOur global team of more than 75,000 colleagues delivers an unrivaled combination of innovative technologies, purchasing convenience and pharmaceutical services through our industry-leading brands, including Thermo Scientific, Applied Biosystems, Invitrogen, Fisher Scientific, Unity Lab Services and Patheon.
