He/She is responsible for the calibration and maintenance of all YAG/Argon/SLT laser and provides ophthalmic technical assistance to the surgeons.
Performs Visual Fields examination and GDX examinations.
He/she is authorized to retrieve and replace stock medications from the floor stock list which is approved by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
He/She maintains competency skills including the ability to provide care to special populations and patients with diverse cultural backgrounds.Key Functions and Encouraged Performances:* Demonstrates clinical expertise and technical skills for calibrating and maintaining laser and other surgical equipment per manufacturer’s recommendations, laser safety policies, and applicable regulations.* Performs pre-treatment eye examination and evaluation; measurement and recording of acuity; color vision testing; basic lensometry/tonometry; measurement of intraocular pressure.* Assists physician in ARGON/YAG/SLT procedures.* Performs visual field and GDX procedures.* Assumes responsibility for patient advocacy, patient rights, and meeting customers expectations.* Demonstrates accountability for judicious use of supplies, equipment, maintains supplies/equipment at per levelsThis is a per diem position with the potential for full time.#Jobs-Indeed #Jobs-LinkedInJob Requirements:* High School Diploma/GED.* Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician (COMT) required.* A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience as an Ophthalmology Technician.* Working Title: Certified Ophthalmic Technician (Refractive Surgical Coord)
