Email and SMS Marketing Manager

The Email and SMS Marketing Manager is a crucial role at Answer Financial that develops and manages digital remarketing campaigns, customer communications, and partner communications utilizing email and SMS channels. Champion the adoption of marketing automation tools throughout Answer, and map customer journeys and create customized touchpoints that communicate Answer’s value proposition. Test and optimize campaign creative, messaging, audience segmentation and deliverability. Utilize competitive industry and business analysis to identify new opportunities as well as improve upon current initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage email and SMS program strategy through ideation, planning and execution stages
  • Measure and optimize campaign performance against benchmarks and recommend continuous improvement tests
  • Monitor email deliverability, remediate issues/blacklists with Return Path and drive strategy to improve inbox placement and engagement
  • Create and maintain key reports, dashboards and forecasts with the ability to interpret and communicate insights on data to key stakeholders
  • Deploy and manage campaigns through ESPs and SMS platforms and serve as the subject matter expert on the platforms for the company
  • Build segmentation filters for email campaigns with internal data resources or with other 3rd party data to deliver campaigns
  • Develop test strategies and apply data-driven analysis to optimize email and SMS campaign performance.
  • Track and analyze KPIs to maximize performance of email and SMS campaigns in achieving conversion and growth goals
  • Manage key vendor relationships for optimal performance and costs
  • Utilize competitive industry and business analysis to identify new opportunities and improve results of current initiatives
  • Collaborate with communications team and other stakeholders to create and optimize messaging
  • Manage and drive projects with individuals cross-functionally within Answer Financial and with outside vendors and partners.
  • Set up backend work (segmentation, deployment time, final sending) of all internal communications

Experience-Education-Certifications

  • 5+ years email marketing experience
  • 3+ years SMS marketing experience
  • Strong knowledge of A/B testing and performance optimization
  • Strong knowledge of email and CRM systems (Cheetah Digital, Marketo or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of SMS systems and protocols
  • Understanding of CAN-SPAM and GDPR requirements
  • Strong knowledge of deliverability monitoring tools (Return Path, Pivotal Veracity or similar)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills and a self-starter
  • Strong organizational skills able to work under tight deadlines
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Familiarity with basic HTML/ WYSIWYG preferred
  • Tableau,Google Analytics or other data analytics experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree Business or Marketing required, MBA preferred
  • Scrum certified preferred
  • JIRA experience (or similar) preferred
