Associate Product Manager, Global Upstream Marketing

Our location in Sylmar, CA currently has an opportunity for a Product Manager, Global Upstream Marketing. 

The Product Manager in Upstream Marketing will be responsible for managing a product line in High Voltage devices for our Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Division.  This includes setting strategic product direction, identifying unmet global customer and market needs/wants, product development, product launch, through product discontinuation.  The Product Manager will develop marketing plans and activities to champion plan execution to achieve business objectives – specifically the attainment of revenue and market share targets.  The incumbent in this position will be regarded as an expert related to the product lines, competitive landscape, and key global customer dynamics in CRM with broad knowledge of related areas.

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Leverages a customer centric and data driven research and engagement process to build analysis and insight of key markets, and customer needs to translate into innovation
  • Manages Product Life Cycle process and product rationalization across geographies
  • Creates a multi-year product roadmap / pipeline to meet dynamic market demands
  • Provides leadership for project justification during funding and scoping cycles and product development team through integrated marketing business plans (e.g. lead trade-off analysis…customer, financial, and timeline impact).
  • Supports and partners with commercial organizations in achieving Plan and provides guidance on objectives such as market share and revenue.
  • Provides direction, input and clear line of communication to all in-house groups, including Global Regional Marketing to drive alignment on business objectives and strategy
  • Executes market research activities to drive business platform/portfolio decisions
  • Organizes and analyze data to inform strategic decision making

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 2+ years of marketing experience working in the medical device, life science research, pharmaceutical or diagnostics industry
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to leverage/engage others to accomplish projects
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • May travel up to 15% of the time, including internationally

Preferred 

  • Advanced Degree (such as a Master’s degree or MBA) is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
