Asst/Assoc Professor Preventive Medicine

The Division of Biostatistics in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the University of Southern California (USC) is recruiting to fill a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

We seek someone with a strong academic record to join our group of over 20 faculty and to contribute to our active research and educational programs. Central to the mission of the Division are the development of novel statistical methods, collaboration with other research groups, and education of the next generation of biostatisticians. We prefer someone that is interested in both developing novel statistical methods and in leading statistical analyses as part of a collaborative team, although those with primary focus in either methods development or collaborative research will also be considered. 

           We invite applications from candidates with strength in any research area, including methods and/or applications related to epidemiology, clinical trials, experimental design, big data, machine learning, data science, causal modeling, hierarchical modeling, survival analysis, image analysis, and/or statistical computing. Faculty members in our Division currently have research programs and collaborations in the areas of integrative genomics and genetic epidemiology, cancer epidemiology, environmental epidemiology, clinical trials, and statistical software development. They also direct statistical cores as parts of large Centers, including our Cancer Center, Environmental Health Center, and Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Our Division administers Ph.D.

and M.S.

degrees in Biostatistics and Epidemiology, and an M.S.

in Data Science.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in teaching activities.

The Department of Preventive Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine includes over 100 faculty members in six Divisions and consistently ranks as the top funded public health-related department within a U.S.
