JOB TITLE: Laboratory Assistant
SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday
HOURS: 08:30am to 04:30pm
LOCATION: Los Angeles, CA 90033

Job Summary:

  • Lab Assistants aide the Clinical Laboratory Scientists with specimen processing, test performance, test result reporting. Lab Assistants duties include: providing service in one or more sections of the laboratory with a high level of accuracy, precision and timeliness and ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory agency standards.

Essential Duties:

  • Accurately performs and reports clinical tests in various sections of the laboratory.
  • Maintains precise documentation in accordance w/ accrediting body & laboratory policy.
  • Analyzes and appraises lab results relevant to the pertinent QC data.
  • Set up laboratory and field equipment to assist Research workers.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory equipment and work areas.
  • Collect specimens from appropriate sources.
  • Prepare samples for testing and analysis.
  • Operate laboratory equipment common to laboratories such as microscopes, spectrophotometers, and auto analyzers.
  • Weigh, analyze, and measure ingredients used in testing.
  • Record and compile test results.
  • Enter test results into computerized databases and/or data entry books.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, spreadsheets, chromatograms, and reports using a variety of software.
  • Tracking supply inventory
  • Stocking supplies
  • Cleaning and maintaining work area, equipment, and instrumentation

Job Requirements:

Requirements:

  • At least six (6) months – one (1) year of general laboratory experience in hospital setting within the past 6-12 months
  • Must have a valid CPR Card from American Heart Association OR American Red Cross ONLY.
  • Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers (within last 12 months).
  • Must have a current TB/PPD or Chest X-ray (within last 12 months).
  • Health Clearance (within last 12 months)
