Nile is a HealthTech startup focused on developing a multi-sided platform for epilepsy patients and health care providers to better manage the disease and shorten the time to optimal treatment. Epilepsy accounts for over $30B+ direct healthcare costs in the US annually. With funding already in place, this startup will disrupt this space by driving transparent, data-driven epilepsy care, with the vision of revamping epilepsy care management and delivery.
We are looking for an exceptional Sr. Data / DataOps Engineer to join the team and align business and technology strategy to drive the success of this disruptive startup in the HealthTech space.
What you will get to do:
- Operate, develop scale digital health products
- Take a holistic / strategic / devops approach to the data development environment
- Be the thought leader and help design and implement our ETL pipelines, data lakes, productionalized algorithm design, evolutionary data architecture
- Help design the technical implement of our module based regulatory strategy for SaMDI
- Work with us to design and implement our data ecosystem
- Use your technical expertise and flexibility to add value across the entire range of the platform (data)
- Be the bridge between innovation / highly regulated digital health algorithms and the platform
- Add value from a devops perspective across the platform
- Experience of the benefits and trade-offs involved in building, maintaining and operating distributed systems with in digital health
- Be hands on 80% – 60% of the time
- Develop a deep understanding of our cloud infrastructure / platform
Needed skills:
- Advanced level data engineering -> data wrangling, etl pipeline design,
- Experience with data infrastructure around modern: data lakes, ml sandboxes, etl pipelines, streaming data ingestion, etc
- Extensive experience using PaaS cloud (primarily AWS but we also use Azure)
- A good grasp of security practices (e.g. secrets management, user identity) and associated tooling
- Experience in production system logging, monitoring and observability
- Real passion for releasing working software to customers daily using CI/CD Continuous Delivery tooling and practices
- Experience working with the following: Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda
- Scripting and programming languages e.g. Python, Javascript, Typescript, etc.
- Deep understanding of networking for decentralized systems
- A basic understanding of automated testing approaches and tools
