· Assists the Audit Manager in the development of Audit Planning Document, Planning Tollgate, and Risk Control Matrix during the planning phase of the audit processnn nn
· Performs and documents walkthroughs of the major functions/sub-processes within the area being audited to understand the type of activities being performed, key and secondary controls, and other key management controlsnn nn
· Performs control design assessment and control effectiveness testing according to the Risk Control Matrixnn nn
· Documents test approach and results in a sufficient manner for a reasonably prudent individual to completely understand the work performed and conclusions reached strictly from the work papersnn nn
· Communicates with the Audit Manager and the auditee throughout fieldwork any potential control weakness, policy violations, other issuesnn nn
· Completes Exception Log and drafts audit issues to be reviewed and approved by the Audit Manager prior to the conclusion of the fieldworknn nn
· Assists the Audit Manager in the development of Fieldwork Tollgate and/or Draft Audit Report for approval of the Chief Audit Executive or designeenn nn
· Stays current and informed of federal and state banking laws and regulations application to the various functions, activities, products, and servicesnn nn
· Maintains and improves technical and professional knowledge through continuing education as outlined in the individual’s Training and Development Plannn nn
· May be called upon to support other auditsnn nn nn nn Job Qualifications/Requirements nn nn

· Strong understanding of a risk-based internal audit approachnn nn
· Extensive knowledge of banking laws and regulationsnn nn
· Experienced in the audit of banking operations, especially in areas of credit and retail operationsnn nn
· Strong planning, organizational and prioritization skillsnn nn
· Strong problem solving, decision making, and time management skillsnn nn
· Strong verbal and written communication skillsnn nn nn nn
· Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in related area such as business management, accounting, finance, economics; with a graduate degree a plusnn nn
· Required: At least one professional, audit-related designation (e.g., CIA, CISA, CPA, CAMS, CRCM)nn nn
· Required: Strong understanding of a risk-based internal audit approachnn nn
· Required: Knowledge of financial/business analysis techniquesnn nn
· Required: Experience in banking operations audit specifically in the lending area, and/or retail banking areann nn
