Electronics Repair and Debug Technician

Along with its successful MANET product line, the company also delivers on ground breaking research in the area of wireless data communications. The company has experienced rapid growth over the past 12 months and is expecting the rate of growth to continue with the introduction of new products and services. The Opportunity Silvus Technologies is seeking a skilled electronics technician to support StreamCaster MANET product development and manufacturing. Technical Responsibilities Primary Basic manufacturing failure troubleshooting, repair and root cause analysisPrimary Initial diagnosis testing and basic repair of customer-returned units (RMA)Secondary EngineeringRD electromechanical support ndash building custom cables, electronics assemblies, test fixturesSecondary Production test station support ndash equipment maintenance, repair and upgrade Qualifications Minimum of 3 years hand soldering fine pitch lead components and SMT 0402 componentsExperience with sensitive electronics components and low voltage PCB assembliesExperience using hand Irons and hot air rework stations is required, IPC Certification is a plusExperience using multi-meter is required, the ability to read and interpret engineering schematics for signal tracingtroubleshooting is desirableGeneral mechanical skills required ndash disreassemble mechanical sub-assemblies to specGeneral PC skills in a Windows environment required, Linux skills are desirableAssociates Degree in an electronics field or 3 years experience in an electronics rework environment is a plusExperience with RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers and signal generators) is a plusExperience working in a small, fast paced RD environment is a plus
