We are seeking a Data Science/Architect lead to work directly under and alongside the President of Night Market. The VP, Data Science will architect an eCommerce system which will discover machine learning insights to optimize retail related services including demand forecasting, pricing, merchandising, as well as media buying insights to improve adverting ROI within the walled gardens of Amazon, Walmart.com Facebook Marketplace, etc.
This VP will have a proven track record of innovating and coming up with solutions to complex business problems and will pave the way for Night Market’s success from the ground up.
What You’ll Do
70% – Solution architecture, Analytics Applications & Predictive Insights
• Create analytics applications for real time, customer experience management and revenue optimization
• Architect and design data strategies to optimize for assembling fragmented customer data
• Architect and design data strategies and GTM plans to drive revenue on commerce platforms
Solve business problems through system development and building
• Apply machine learning with high efficiency at scale to create and manage meaningful retail experiences through data, all in real time.
Build processes for managing the exploration/exploitation trade-off in a multivariate machine learning online optimization application.
• Using machine learning technologies at scale, identifies and executes shortest path to highest commercial impact.
20% – Client Involvement
Crucial involvement in new business pitches and existing client communications, specifically focused and dedicated to eCommerce and eRetail verticals.
Present models and methodology to clients and socialize results and learnings within the organization to drive business decisions.
10% – Management, oversight, process implementation and best-practices
Work with engineering team to implement and build eCommerce systems and deliver best in class models and results.
Build and lead a team of top data scientists ensuring the delivery of high impact data solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs to ensure alignment on the development and delivery of scalable solutions.

Preferred Skills & Experience
5+ years’ experience leading the data science function, media and/or eCommerce experience is preferred
PhD/MS in computer science, machine learning, statistics, applied mathematics, physics, or other scientific or computational disciplines
Experience with the application of data science and advanced analytics techniques across structured and unstructured data
Expertise in AI-driven automation for sustainable advantage.
Deep understanding of data asset value and how to quantify unfulfilled potential.
- • Expert in the application of petabyte scale consumer interaction and behavioral data for high performance accountable marketing and commerce.
- • Experience in large-scale event-based data capture and management, coupled with predictive automation capabilities.
- • Experience with the application of data science and advanced analytics techniques across structured and unstructured data
- • Proven expertise applying data science techniques to solve business problems.
- • Experience with Agile methodologies
- • Significant experience working with data from “walled garde” digital ad platforms; e.g. Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, Walmart.com
- • Experience with working in cloud-based environments like AWS
