Job Description
Mission Community Hospital, a 145-bed acute care facility located in the San Fernando Valley, is currently searching for four Per-Diem, Day Shift, RN positions for the Surgery Unit.
Job Summary
Responsible for designing and implementing the plan of care for an assigned group of patients. Uses the nursing process to assure the performance of direct care activities required to provide and maintain individualized quality patient care. Specific areas of responsibility, whether providing total patient care or functioning as a team leader, include; administration of medications, performance of treatments, assessment of patients and development of an individualized care plan of care based upon the nursing process, provision of patient education, maintenance of a record of care provided and ensuring that hygiene and comfort measures are provided. Actively participates in performance improvement program of department.
This position will be primarily working with a critically ill through rehabilitating adolescent to geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served.
Qualifications
General Job Requirements, Certifications & Knowledge
OPERATING ROOM (OR)
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of California.
- Minimum of one-year acute nursing experience preferred.
- Certification as CNOR preferred.
- BSN preferred.
- Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia course – Preferred
- BLS
- ACLS
- FIRE CARD
PACU – Perianesthesia Services
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of California.
- Two years RN experience preferred.
- Prefer previous one year ICU/ER/PACU experience.
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS – obtain within 60 days of hire
- EKG Certification (Arrhythmia/Dysrhythmia) – obtain within 30 days of hire
- FIRE CARD
SHORT STAY
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of California.
- Proficient in admissions/discharges, IVs Strong communication Skills, Assist physicians with procedures, and communicate with all hospital departments.
