We are seeking a high-caliber senior engineering manager to lead our Software Test and Test Automation strategy to ensure exceptional customer experience of our “always-on” digital health platform. You will provide leadership to architect, design and develop test strategies, frameworks and tools. In this role, you will be responsible for all deliverables associated with verifying our connected solutions that integrate real-time health data and deliver remote monitoring and therapy analytics to patients and health care providers globally. Your team will be responsible for manual and automated testing throughout the Development, Integration, User-Acceptance, and formal Verification phases.

A Day in the Life

  • Deliver and operate enterprise grade applications and tools for the Application and Cloud group
  • Lead, coach, manage and grow engineers to their potential. Recognize the individual strengths of each member and how they can be leveraged together to create a team that is even more capable together. 
  • Directly interface with architects, software managers and customer representatives to incorporate their needs into our verification and operations strategies.
  • Drive Site Reliability best practices including tool strategy, monitoring and diagnostic functionality, escalation processes and incident management.
  • Support pre-commercial infrastructure operations for multiple engineering programs with varied needs.
  • Interface with the applications support groups to correlate call-center escalations with infrastructure reliability and drive the “customer’s view” back into our engineering processes.
  • Perform root-cause analysis, present findings and identify areas for systemic improvement.
  • Manage work priorities for engineering team members and vendor staff; report on project status regularly using clear and concise methods that are appropriate for senior level audiences.
  • Provide feedback to the Infrastructure and development teams to influence architecture, component design, tools and automation.
  • Apply critical thinking skills to address complex needs in a sometimes-ambiguous environment; see the big picture and implement incrementally to make tangible differences according to strategic goals.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with partner R&D organizations including Systems Engineering, Quality, Regulatory and Field Operations

  • Plans, directs and implements all aspects of the company’s design and development of new medical device products or software systems.
  • Oversees the investigation and evaluation of existing technologies.
  • Directs the development of new concepts from initial design to market release.
  • Organizes the coordination of activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure timely delivery.
  • Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Engineering or Sciences with 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience and 5+ years of managerial experience, or master’s degree in Engineering or Sciences with 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with 5+ years of managerial experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience testing and delivering commercial web applications and cloud services
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and Inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information to varied and often non-technical audiences
  • Hands-on experience with software test frameworks
  • Experience with systems build on native cloud services such as AWS or Azure

Experience integrating with enterprise T services such as Single-Sign, LDAP etc
