JOB TITLE: Field Technician Assistant

PROJECTED HOURS: Monday – Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM (overnight travel required)
ANTICIPATED DURATION: Temporary (9 months)
COMPENSATION: $25.00-$26.00/hr (depending on experience)
Job Summary:
Pure Technologies, a Xylem brand, seeks to hire a Field Technician. The Field Technician/Engineer position necessitates a strong engineering and pipeline/construction management background with an affinity for mechanical functions. The ideal candidate for this position will also possess a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and utilize time management skills, necessary for overseeing on-site inspection crew members, scheduling field support staff for assignments, and maintaining a variety of files and records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop operational knowledge of proprietary technology platforms
- Support the Operations group in the planning, deployment and implementation of Pure’s pipeline inspection technologies
- Respond quickly to internal and external requests and inquiries regarding project related matters and effectively communicate changes and progress
- Organize and maintain a variety of files and records; work logically and systematically using effective time management skills.
- In-pipe inspection and deployment of Pure’s proprietary technology Collection of data according to company SOP’s.
- Ensure all data is collected completely and accurately
- Daily download of data on GPS device
- Participate in quality assurance activities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of field experience in infrastructure inspections and/or construction
- Position requires significant travel. Candidates must be keen and excited to travel (up to 90%). Will need to travel overnight to work sites for multi-day inspections. Eligible for per diem on travel days.
- Flexible schedule. May not work 40 hours each week depending on client inspections scheduled.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate with Red Cross or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s license (without restrictions), and ability to operate and be insured on a company-owned or rented vehicle. Safe and cautious driver with a valid driver’s license.
- DOT Certification an asset.
- Follow all safety procedures
- Confined space safety
- Traffic and personnel safety
- Equipment operations safety
- Safety Completion of eCompliance safety forms (JSA, Daily Safety Meeting, Confined Space Entry, LOTO, etc.)
- Wear required PPE.
- Experience with potable water or wastewater systems preferred
- Experience reading and understanding design drawings or “as-builts”
- Experience working in confined space strongly desired.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets and ability to download data)
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Team Player and works well in team environments
- Ability to work collaboratively and cohesively within a team environment
- Customer service skills an asset
- Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
- Fluency in the English language required
