The Controller position will be located in Los Angeles, California and is a long-term temporary engagement. You might be a good fit for this Controller position if you would be comfortable with managing the process to ensure that models are correct and are fully accrued each month, verifying and holding the operations team accountable to ensure end to end incentive processing, payments, accounting and related financial controls are operating effectively.
Responsibilities
– Secure an understanding of key financial results and movements across programs to summarize and discuss with key business partners
Direct budgeting, reporting, and forecasting processes and tools for all accountable programs
– Recognize key financial results and movements across programs, then summarize and discuss them with key business partners
– Collaborate with the Treasury to deliver cash flow forecasts in a timely manner
– Ongoing review of actual spend against budget and direct necessary actions needed for any expected shortfalls
– Comparison of evidence and qualitative discussion of monthly financial results across global programs to support SOX controls
– Review and monitor controls to ensure they are designed and operating effectively in partnership with compliance
– Engage with various business partners for various program controllership and FP& A activities like maintaining accuracy of accrual models, appropriate accounting, and participating in true-up activities. Also answer queries from business, area and subsidiary controllers
Job Requirements:
– Annual Standard Cost experience required
– Solid understanding of month end closings
– Proficiency in Annual Budget
– Proven ability to provide leadership across finance team by engaging with different groups around the world via virtual communication
– ERP system knowledge required
– Capacity to assess process and internal control weaknesses and identify improvements
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other relevant field
– CPA and/or CMA preferred
– Outstanding communication and negotiation skills with experience building trusted advisor/consultant relationships and aptitude for influencing Executives and Business Decision Makers
– Well-versed in office and accounting computer systems
– Top notch analytical, organizational, and vendor management skills
– 10+ years professional accounting and controllership or public accounting and internal controls experience and/or Internal Audit or Controls and Compliance
