Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Per Diem

ResponsibilitiesThe Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a per diem Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

In this key role, you will assist with a variety of technical procedures within the Bacteriology, Mycobacteriology, Mycology and Parasitology sections of the Brentwood Annex.

Primary responsibilities include:
•Perform urine cultures, blood cultures, gram stains, fungal stains, BD Max PCR
•Troubleshoot laboratory instruments
•Reagent preparation Note: this is a per diem position primarily assigned to the day shift, from 7:00 a.m.

to 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications
•A current, California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) or a Clinical Microbiology Scientist (CMS)
•Must have a minimum of at least two years of current technical and practical experience in Bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, and /or parasitology
•Strong educational background and advanced training in Microbiology
•Demonstrated working knowledge of current instrumentations: BD Bactec FX and bioMerieux Vitek 2 and MS systems, Centrifuges, Water Baths, Analytical Balance, Fume hood, Biological Safety Cabinet, Incubator
