The Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery will have leadership experience from an acute care facility. Experience as a charge nurse, unit supervisor, or assistant nurse manager will provide a strong background for a candidate looking to transfer into a management role. Additional job responsibilities expected of the Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery include directing patient care, managing a high performing team, consulting with staff, and interpreting hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met.
The Labor and Delivery Nurse Manager will be joining a 400+ short term acute care, Level II Trauma hospital. The Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery will oversee a facility that is home to a State-of-the-art NICU and three surgery suites for those deliveries requiring cesarean deliveries. The Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery will manage 9 ante, 9 delivery suites, and 39 rooms for couplet bonding. As the Nurse Manager of Labor and Delivery, organization and collaboration will be critically important given the high volume of patients seen—last year alone the Labor and Delivery department assisted in over 5,000 births!
