About the Company :
Our client is a high-growth company in the events and live entertainment space, backed by a strong leadership team and well-capitalized for expansion. Headquartered near Downtown Los Angeles, the company is building infrastructure to scale nationally and is seeking a proven Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to drive excellence in financial reporting, systems, and strategic integration.
The Opportunity :
The CAO will report directly to the Owner / Board and oversee all accounting operations, internal controls, technical accounting, ERP systems, and financial reporting. This is a mission-critical role for a hands-on and strategic accounting leader who thrives in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments and can build scalable infrastructure from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and scale the accounting function, including oversight of GL, AP / AR, payroll, tax, and treasury operations.
- Manage all aspects of the month-end close and ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
- Lead ERP implementation or optimization to modernize the company’s financial systems.
- Serve as the technical accounting expert on complex transactions including revenue recognition, equity, leasing, and M&A activity.
- Oversee and prepare for annual audits, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support due diligence, integration, and post-merger activities related to potential acquisitions.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team to support future growth.
What We’re Looking For :
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
- Public accounting background (Big 4 or Mid-tier) is a must.
- Minimum 12+ years of total accounting experience, with leadership roles in fast-growing or PE-backed environments.
- Hands-on experience with ERP implementation (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in M&A or post-merger integration is a major plus.
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP and internal controls (SOX not required but nice to have).
- Collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style – comfortable working onsite with cross-functional teams.
