About the role:
You’ll be reporting directly to the Associate Director of Facility Engineering, where you’ll be at the forefront of designing and developing cutting-edge, cost-effective projects and technologies focusing on cutting-edge water filtration systems, reverse osmosis, and sanitization technologies. Beyond ensuring top-tier technical support for critical Utilities areas, your role will also encompass supervising, requisitioning, defining, initiating, specifying, documenting, and trainingmaking a tangible impact every step of the way. This role blends technical prowess with proactive leadership, offering you the platform to make a substantial impact in shaping our facility’s future.
How you will contribute:

Lead approved projects with autonomy, actively proposing improvements based on the latest technical insights.

Take charge of Critical Utilities, establishing yourself as the go-to expert in these vital areas.

Dive deep into process and equipment design, meticulously reviewing drawings and documents to ensure seamless integration.

Navigate plant and divisional SOPs with ease, aligning your responsibilities for maximum operational efficiency.

Harness advanced engineering tools like FMEA, process modeling, and SPC to tackle challenges with precision.

Prioritize safety and uphold compliance with LA City, CA state, and federal EPA regulations.

Drive forward Energy Optimization projects, optimizing resource usage and sustainability efforts.

Investigate customer service issues with a keen eye, offering insightful analyses and innovative design solutions to elevate user experience.
What you bring to Takeda:
Qualifications
-
Experience in pharmaceutical industry, preferably plasma manufacturing.
-
Knowledge of the principles in multiple engineering disciplines, including sanitization, water for injection and reverse osmosis.

Must know how to run projects, coordinate contractors, and direct the activities of a technician.
-
Knowledge of critical systems (RO, WFI), computer/automation.
-
General GMP knowledge of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and major equipment.
Education and experience
-
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline required, MBA or Master’s degree preferred. 6+ years of related experience with 1+ year leadership experience in a supervisory role
Physical Demand:

Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 25 lbs.

In general, your work will be a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.
Working Environment

Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body.

No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

Will work in construction area

May work in a cold, wet environment.

Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends.

May be required to work in a confined area.

Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
Important Considerations
At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

Work in a cold, wet environment.

Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$108,500.00 – $170,500.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.?The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short–term and/or long-termincentives. U.S.based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others.
